this is... incredible. thank you for organizing and sharing your knowledge with the world! it is so cool to see what you've created over the course of the year.
Thanks Kora! It's been fun to put together. I've learned a lot, and naturally the more I work on it, the more bottomless it appears. The goal is for this to be a living book that keeps evolving each month (more examples, more diagrams, etc.).
This is an incredible architecture of the essay. A reminder of how beautiful writing critically is, when it's so easy to delegate the job to the machine.
Thanks Brigitte, appreciate your comment, and if you have any questions as you read, definitely let me know. The hope is for the material to evolve over time as I help clarify it.
This is wonderful. Thank you. Will write more after I get through it all ...might be some time. Thank you for your work with this and making it available.
Let me know how it goes! (Seriously, I wonder what it's like to read this from start to end). My general recommendation is to read a few patterns at a time, implement them into your editing, and then come back to learn more. It might also helps to work from big to small (dimensions > elements > pattern), or, just one element at a time.
“Someone should make X thing, but this time about Y!”
I think this is a thought that we often have. There is a great joy in seeing you actualize the thought.
You had a thing you admired (the book on architecture) and wanted to apply it to the thing you really love (writing essays), and you just absolutely nailed it.
It is a genuine joy to see you accomplish this feat. You made the thing you wanted to see in the world, and it’s super fun to see that happen. Also, really useful. Thanks for that too.
